Cheek pads made my jaw sore until I replaced them
My HJC IS MAX II helmet is a an XL.
The original cheek pads made my Jaw sore. If you unsnap them and pull one out the size should be on a sticker on the inside of the pad. Mine were 22mm. I ordered the 17MM ones (2XL, 17MM IS-MAX II) and they are allot thinner and now the helmet isn't tight around my jaw. I was confused as to wither or not I needed the 17MM pads to say XL, .... but apparently it doesn't matter.
Best $ I spent in some time :). Plus... for the price those old (well used) ones can smell up the shop garbage can.
In true fashion this web site doesn't have proper product pictures or links to the manufactures web sites for the info you need. (GRRRR)

New cheek pads
Cheek pads are all interchangeable to any size of helmet. Look on the HJC website for the proper sizing chart. I know the size chart on here says that the 3xl 4xl and 5xl cheek pads are all the same but they aren't. I called and can confirm that if you order the 5xl it says 20ml but it is the 14ml that you get. Works great and really helps with the fit if your helmet is a little too tight

Questions
I bought an XL helmet and looking to get thinner cheek pads. How does the sizing work?
These are the OEM sizing of the cheek pads. The mm is the thickness of the pads.
XS - 32mm
SM - 27mm
MD - 22mm
LG - 27mm
XL - 22mm
2XL - 17mm
3XL - 20mm
4XL - 17mm
5XL - 14mm
The XL helmet comes with the 22mm cheek pads. I purchased the 2XL/4XL - 17mm cheek pads, which are thinner, and they are a perfect fit for me. Just remember that the sizing is per pad. I went from a 22mm which is 44mm for both sides to a 17mm which is 34mm total. I took out 10mm total. You need to decide how much you need to take out to make it comfortable.
