Good product, could be better executed
Used these under jeans for the past month. I like the feeling of having the extra protection in case of a fall and the added Kevlar is nice for abrasion. On a small fall though the knee padding moved as I slide and rashed up my knee anyways. The pant bottoms ride up into the back of the knee and make for a pretty annoying ride from time to time. I think icon would have been better off to make a full length pant with foot stirrups to hold the padding in place. None the less it’s a decent option to provide minimal protection to wear under your normal clothes

More is better
I bought a pair over a year ago and it was really for peace of mind. It was to add aditional protection under my riding pants. I always find the armour floats on pants or jackets and the protection on these pants remains in place. I believe the complaints from other reviews are perhaps issues of wrong sizing. The only advice I would add is that the fabric is not leather or denim and thus should be handled with care when putting on or taking off. Size 2XL, 230lbs. 6ft 2".

Great under layer
Not sure why these got such bad reviews. Excellent, comfortable and very breathable, I use mine almost daily. I wouldn't buy these to replace proper knee pads but the do add some extra protection in important areas. The best part is that you can wear your normal pants over top!

these are the solution to riding jeans
I only wear these when I'm not in full leathers.
Good thing is you can wear what ever you want on top.I just wear camo cargos.
Riding jean pads will move during a crash. these will stay - unless you have chicken legs like the guy saying they move.
Honestly one of the best buys I have made. Super happy with them.

Fits great and is low pro
Awesome base layer of protection that fits under any pants your decide to wear. I always wear these compression pants under denim jeans with tech 7 boots and icon field armour knee pads over the jeans and I feel confident my legs will be safe in an accident. The pads are covered in kevlar for protection from road rash and the padding is abundant but not intrusive so sitting on your seat is still comfortable. I’m 6’2 and wear 30x32 jeans. The large size fits perfect.

Best D30 with Kevlar overlay coverage
Used for 4 seasons - best area coverage with least bulk. Compression shorts stay put. I normally wear Large, needed XL. Feel snug and stay in place. I'm 5'10" 175 lbs., 34" waist, 32" inseam. Nice to be able to wear under normal pants, jeans usually. Haven't gone down, so can't attest to talk worked protection, but seem well designed with best coverage, compared to other products. Kevlar overlay on D30 pads is smart. Pads on waist, hips, thighs, butt, tailbone, knees, and calves (side knees) are more than most. Durable, with good string stitching. Breathable, but warm on 25°C plus days. I tend to wear medium to heavy denim straight or slim, or jumper jeans that have a bit of
stretch, but are snug, that can maximize pads to stay in place during a slide.

Essential gear for new riders. I wear it under any jeans for added protection. I got it for abrasion resistance but the padding isn’t bad at all. Very comfortable.
I bought the large, and I wear a 32 waist pant. It fits real well, but that size would easily fit a few more sizes up. I probably could have fit a medium, but no complaints here. The peace of mind is nice. Going to buy the field armour shirt next.

Decent piece of kit
Picked these up as an alternative to heavier kevlar jeans. Got a few weeks of riding in on them and so far I like them. The breath ok, they're still a bit warm on hot days though, the armor fits well and isn't too obtrusive. Haven't crashed with them on yet so no idea how the thinner padding is going to react to impacts or slides.

The Kevlar is only on the impact zone, the rest of the pants are made out of stretch Hydradry material.

Are the d30 inserts removable, and if so can I replace them with say.....level 2 armor?
All is part of and sown in. That having been said it’s pretty form fitting and you can wear whatever over top. I wear Klim with armour in place and it is comfortable for me. Mainly wear these for the Kevlar skid pads. The odd time I wear Icon jeans when the whole battle dress is a bit too much.

Would this be suitable for vegans ? Is there any leather ?
As per the manufacturer, the Icon field armor compression line is entirely made of synthetic materials so completely vegan friendly.
