Perfect for trail and good in the mountains!
Went from klim stealth shell jacket to kompound jacket. No need for excessive under layers. Kompound jacket is very warm and still very maneuverable while off trail. I'm usually a large in most jackets, however, the medium was a better fit for me.

As per the manufacturer, it will keep you totally dry due to the Gore-Tex material.
