Great but not perfect
Pros:
- looks and feels high quality
- comfortable to wear; no hot spots or pinching. The chest and back protector hugs gently against the torso
- lightweight and relatively low profile
- breathable (as much as it can be) especially with the mesh fabric and cutouts in the armpits
- good protection coverage including some CE II in core areas (more on that below)
Cons:
- the entire chest protector is NOT CE II. It's limited to the inner red areas.
- the "do not wash" thing. I wear a compression shirt underneath for some separation but this doesn't prevent sweat soaking through. This needs to be washed and hand washing does not cut it. I've resorted to washing it on a "delicate" cycle inside a laundry bag (air dry only). If this compromises the protection or causes it to fall apart then that would be a fail but so far so good.
- the shoulder pads slide around a bit too much which has me wondering whether they would catch an impact or simply slide out of the way although some of this is due wearing a compression shirt underneath as it reduces friction.
- the velcro on the kidney belt will hook the shirt and pull fibers out if you're not careful. I wish it wasn't sewn at the back so it could be removed completely.
