Schuberth E1 Cut Helmet Item # 677951

Description
On the way to work or to the seaside - whichever way you take, the new E1 by SCHUBERTH lets you concentrate entirely on what's in front of you. Let the others use the trodden paths.
The innovative dual sports helmet for enduro touring and adventure bike riders offers the highest comfort, flexibility and safety for on- and offroading.
Fits perfectly. Fits safely:
- The E1 is the perfect fit for almost any rider, and meets and exceeds DOT testing standards
- The E1 is available in sizes from XS to 3XL. This conforms to head circumferences from 52 to 65 centimetres
Ventilation:
- A complex air channel system on the inside of the helmet shell provides a comfortable air flow
- The head aeration leads the air into the helmet for circulation
- The visor aeration prevents the visor screen misting-up
- The large regulatable auxiliary aeration on the chin piece gives you space to breathe on demanding tours. It adds fresh air by the litre when it really counts
Visor:
- All SCHUBERTH visors are visors of the optical class 1
- Warrants an undistorted view and are anti-scratch treated
- Turbulators for noise reduction on the visor edge
- The visor mechanics allow a quick exchange completely without tools
- The E1 features an anti-fog lens
Sun visor:
- A sun visor is built into the E1 straight away
- The sun visor can be extended or retracted with one move of the hand using a slider on the helmet edge. Now you can react lightning fast to sudden sun glare
Open and closed - well covered into the adventure:
- The chin piece of the E1 can be swivelled up as a single piece together with the visor and shield
- The shield can be fixed in three different positions
- The visor can be used independently from the shield
Inner lining:
- COOLMAX® textiles provide a good climate on the inside of the helmet and transport moisture effectively away. This creates constantly a good climate and permanent cooling for the driver
- The inner lining is Öko-Tex 100. It can be removed easily and can be washed
Aerodynamics and acoustics:
- The E1 is stable in the wind, without pendulum effect, lift, or buffeting and on top of it is extremely quiet
- Apart from the adapted helmet shape, a spoiler is responsible for this streamlining
- It has been tested many times in the wind channel, has been improved and designed for maximum wear comfort

Really good, but.....
My size is L. I am 6'2", 200 lbs and the bike I just rode it with is a stock DRZ400 (no aftermarket windshield). My other helmets are a Schuberth C3 and a Fly Racing Trekker. The E1 is to replace the Trekker. I wore it around the house for a few hours in the past week and it fits like a Schuberth, that is, snug but comfortable without any hot spots. I have a thick neck and the strap left a red mark on my neck that went away after 15 minutes after my 1.5 hour ride. The helmet is louder than my C3, but is quiet none-the-less. I rode as fast as 135 kph and I didn't notice any noise. Regardless of the helmet I wear, I always use earplugs because the noise bothers me from riding back in the 70's without any protection, which may not provide an accurate description of noise to you. If you are a Schuberth guy, then you will be happy with the helmet.

high quality all around
I went from a ZR1 Solaris to a schuberth E1, huge step up in quality for the ''same'' feature!
The E1 is not a quiet as I expected, Riding a Tiger 800 with no wind until top of the visor, and still ''no quiet'' on the highway
Contrairly to what Ryan say in a video review, you don't need to push the chin bar sideway when locking it down, You just need a well adjusted helmet and your cheek with naturaly push the shell slightly out, chinbar open and close with one day, no problem while riding.
it is a ''warm'' helmet, there is airflow with the chainbar down, but will get warm in summer
the sunvisor is smaller than the one on my ZR1, just too small to be able to ride chinbar up above 50-60k, otherwise, superbe optical quality
come with the pinlock insert, juste make sure to adjust the 2 screw to fit it well, had condensation on first ride before adjusting it, and riding for few day with it not being adjusted, it slutly scratch the visor at the ''top seal'', not an issue, it high enough not to been seen while riding
Would recomande it to anyone who as the budget for it if your riding an adventure bike. It will be to warm for real off road motorcrossing

Very quiet.
When I received the helmet, I had an issue with the pinlock not being installed right, someone had clearly opened it before me. The pinlock pin was broken off and the pinlock visor was bent and did not lay flat against the shield, was very disappointed. I called fortnine about the issue and they were very helpful and understanding with my issue, they sent me new pins with a new pinlock visor and all has been forgotten. Fortnine has yet to let me down in there customer Service, and for that I give this helmet five stars. The fit and performance if it far exceeds any helmet I’ve owned before.

Exactly as expected
This is my 3rd Schuberth helmet and it does what I expected it to. You have to buy one and use it to understand - I believe you get value in a $1000 helmet. It fits snuggly per the sizing chart and relaxes as you get hours in it.

Wind buffeting.
Using the helmet with a 2016 Africa Twin. Wind buffeting is terrible. Have tried both windscreens but this helmet doesn't help. I've ridden the bike with 3 helmets and the Schuberth is the worst of the three. I know you can't just blame the helmet but it hasn't met my expectations or the hype. Also it's easy to get dust between the antifog and face shield which is dumb if your going take your adventure bike off road.

très bon casque
Je dirais même excellent casque. La seule chose que je n'aime pas, c'est le poids lorsqu'il est ouvert.

Heavy
Very heavy. Quality and features were excellent. I just felt like it would be too heavy for me.
