Solid performing unit, do not use in heavy rain
I have very little complaints about this unit. It's pretty user friendly and interfaces well with the Sena app. If you wear earplugs, volume is a little lacking at speed. Almost impossible to hear on highway (could be dependent on how much wind protection your bike has).
Unfortunately it has one major downfall, it's not waterproof. Do not keep this on your helmet if heavy rain. my family group of five riders all had them and we were stuck in a downpour last summer. Three of the five units quit working, 1 permanently. The other two came back to life after a few days. Sena's warranty doesn't cover water damage. I don't understand why you would design something like a communicator that's exposed to the elements and not make it IP67. I've since switched to an Interphone U-COM 8r which is pretty much the same unit (100% Sena compatible), has a much better battery life and is fully waterproof.

No FM Radio Chip
Unit seems to work okay but I was later disappointed to discover SENA stopped producing these units with FM radio chip during the pandemic due to a supply problem. I would have purchased a different unit if I knew this at the time; however, I did not realize the deficiency until after I installed and use the product; other functions seem to work fine.

Far superior to cardo
The sound quality is excellent given the noise of the engine and wind which is an inevitability of riding. The boom mic is fantastic. Highly recommend over cardo which I owned in 2022 and used for a cross country ride.

I had transmitting problems with the original set but that was rectified quickly and no cost to me, I'm still getting use to the idea of talking with fellow riders but I'm loving it. !!

Is this water proof?
It's defintely water resistant. Can be used in the rain. I would not submerge it in water though of course.
