Contents and Installation

Shorai LFX batteries come in a variety of case shapes and sizes, capacity options and right/left polarity options for the best possible fitment. If the LFX is slightly smaller than the original battery in one dimension or another, high-density, adhesive-backed foam sheets are included in the package. These can be trimmed and applied to the battery box in minutes to make a solid fit and with added thermal and vibration insulation. Cable connections can be made either at tops or sides of the terminals. All these options and sizes allow Shorai LFX to offer a drop-in installation for most powersports vehicles. We also offer a 6-volt LFX in the #2 case size for vintage vehicles.

  • When you open a LFX battery package you will also find terminal screws and a set of spares, Shorai decals in various sizes and the user manual.
  • Self-adhesive foam shims insure a great fit to the battery box, as well as extra vibrational and thermal insulation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a battery What can I say, I like Shorai LFX batteries, I have one installed on all of my bikes. You may not notice a faster crank, but having a battery that you don't need a tender on while the bike sits all winter is nice. Yes, if you have a constant draw on your bike (alarm, immobilizer, clock) it'll drain the battery if you don't start it every 2-3 months, but that's the beauty of this battery, the first crank will be slow, then it starts building punch the more you use it as the battery warms up. Plus if you're into making your bike as light as possible, getting rid of the factory lead acid boat anchor and replacing it with a Lithium battery is guaranteed to save a few pounds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible battery for colder climates - do not buy I bought this looking for a high cranking battery, as it is rated twice the CCA rating of my bike's stock battery, and even talked to Shorai to ensure I ordered the correct one. I was looking forward to trying a lithium battery. Battery is supposed to "warm" up in 30s-4 minutes in cold weather based on temp, but even if you leave the bike on with high beams (12A load on my bike) as per the manual, before starting, it doesn't produce enough current to crank the motor over fast and long enough to start. So initially you crank slowly slowly till the motor stops turning over (like an dying normal battery).. wait 30 seconds try again, and it will crank faster, but same thing; crank till the engine doesn't turn over anymore, wait another 30 seconds try again, cranking will be quicker now, but by this time you have too much fuel and it is slightly flooded. So after cranking continuously 20 times once the battery is warmed up the bike will finally start. When the battery is warm it cranks super fast, but until it warms up there is very little cranking amps. This battery would work great in california, but for the Canadian west coast it is terrible, even in 8 degree weather. If you had a 30A load to warm up the battery it might work ok.. Friend of mine was looking and I told him to stay away from these batteries. Very disappointed. Think it will work ok as a summer battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight & strong I bought this battery to replace an old lead acid battery that was charging poorly. I also needed something that would hold a charge better and crank the starter harder as I ride will in cold weather. Light weight and easy to install. It does require a specialized (lithium ion iron) trickle charger. While these go for a more than your regular lead acid battery up front, their lifespan pays dividends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this batter for 1989 vmax in stalled was amassed it turn engine over faster then any lead acid batter has . Bonus it is less than half the weight . Time will tell how long it last , so far excellent .
