These give a lower more throaty sound than stock standard baffles, but are certainly not quiet. A couple hours on the road with these makes my ears ring.
I bought these because my pipes came with my bike and the previous owner had removed the standard baffles. I found the open pipes too loud and actually wanted to run a legal setup. Adding these baffles made the pipes marginally more quiet than the open pipes.
I think these are fine so long as people purchase with the expectation of a "change" in sound, rather than big hopes of making their straightshots quiet.
Also, I would expect that with time, the insulation would burn up/blow out and require replacing. Personally I wouldn't' bother as it's such a small layer of packing it's unlikely to effect the sound much.

Amazing Product! Worked with V&H Straight Shots
Very easy to install. Fit perfectly with my V&H Straight Shots Originals even though it says they wouldn’t. It’s a smaller diameter than the pipes so it was no problem installing them. It made the “tinny” sound go away and it sounds great! Still loud when you give’er! Happy customer with awesome fast shipping from Fortnine!

Seems great
Easy installation. Gives a lower rumble. Not a huge difference in volume. Definitely not nearly as obnoxiously loud and piercing with these installed.

lowered and improved the sound
Bike used to just scream with the strait pipes, which was ok sometimes but not so much leaving for work at 0530. The sound is now lower and deeper, I prefer it overall like this.

Better sound than stock VH baffle
Not much a difference is overall noise reduction but a deeper thump, thump on the HD. A much better look than stock as well. Be sure to order 2, they are sold individually.

The outer diameter of Vance and Hines Quiet Baffle for Shortshots Staggered and Sideshots Exhaust Systems - 21301 is 2" at the back and 1-5/8" on the front. Please note however, Vance and Hines baffles aren't listed by dimensions. Instead, they're categorized by exhaust system and motorcycle make and model. If you do not know the type of Vance and Hines exhaust you have, check under the heat shield, the model id will be stamped there.

Yes, and they quiet the bike somewhat but the bike still sounds imposing, which is what I wanted. I think it brings it down into the acceptable db ratings.
