Upgrade In Protection
After 6 years, I wore out my Fox Comp 5 boots. They fit me perfect and required no break-in. They were extremely comfortable from day 1.
I decided to upgrade to Alpinstars because I've always wanted to try a pair since I was a kid, and I went with the Tech 3 Enduro. They've got a very different feel compared to the Fox boots and I'm slowly starting to adjust. Break in was lengthy by my standards and they are not as initially comfortable as my Comp 5's were. Sometimes I'm tempted to throw on my old boots regardless of their tired state, just because I felt faster...
The A'Stars do however provide far more protection in my opinion and so I do consider them a better boot overall. I know I'll like them the more I ride. I currently have about 10hrs in these boots so I figure by around 15 - 20 I'll be comfortable.

Very nice boot
Like the title says very good boot I tryed a bunch of boots and these were the best bang for the buck that fit my wide feet. Only have a few hours in them but feel great lots of support and protection but yet still got movement.

Good Boots
Always wanted A-Stars boots so I bought a set. Took a while to get used to coming from the Fox Comp 5 but after several hours of break in, I like them. Good protection and light weight feel.

Good value boots
Pretty good boot for the price. I ride 1-2 times a week and have had them for a couple of months on and off trails. Bottom strap on one boot digs in a bit when walking but on the bike they are very comfortable. I would buy again

Terrible design flaw
I bought a pair of these boots in 2022 and at the time, I thought they were great. Comfortable, good water protection, and didn't take too long to break in. I wore them in Mongolia, Baja, and offroading and racing here in Alberta, mostly on a KTM 250XC, so legit offroading.
My biggest gripe was that, after about 6 months, I constantly had wet feet. I thought it was from my knee braces letting water in the top, but I would get wet feet by walking through grass before even starting to ride!!
Fast forward to 2024, a friend and I went on an ADV ride to Vancouver Island. He needed boots and bought a brand new pair, same Tech 3 model. 3 days later, he has wet feet too.
The glue holding the toe came apart, the same issue I have on my boots. We're talking 3 day old boots on a Norden 701, so not difficult riding.
Ultimately, the quality is completely unacceptable. $350 boots need to last a lot longer, and Alpinestars just needs to be better than this. Shelling out for a more expensive boot to overcome a fairly simplistic design flaw doesn't seem right, so my next boots will be another brand.

Good Boot Didn't Last
I bought this boot in early 2020 and put 30 hours on without much issue. Tow box is large and difficult to shift but was able to overcome. In 2021 I put 10 hours on them and broke three latches right off the boot. Would not buy again.

I have a large calf wondering if they have lots of adjustment to accommodate the calf and shin pad ? is there a measurement that I can confirm they will fit?
there’s room enough i’ve found them to be very comfortable and accommodating. i have a big calf as well and they’re not tight
