This thing sucks....... In a good way.
My bike just had to have more air since upgrading the exhaust. this item filled the requirement. no noticeable increase in HP but the eng seems to run better. If considering purchasing one the only con I can see thus far is the chrome cover is not avail for this smaller version. You can purchase stage two covers but no stage one cover. I had to go toJPCycle and pay 170.00 for a cover. Did not impress me in the slightest. The product looks and works well. Good price, fast shipping (free). We don't get that from the states do we???????? I have ordered numerous items from canadasmotorcycle and thus far have no complaints regarding their service.

Went on super easy. Haven’t had good weather since installing that and a Vance and Hines fuel pak 3. That’s why I gave it a 4 star but I’m sure once it’s teated it’ll bump up to 5 star

Compatible with 1997 Fatboy with Stock CV Carb
compatible, easy to install(took me non-technical person about 30 minutes). Have not tested the road performance, but better than my old air cleaner kit that had air leak(long story).
little expensive though..

Questions
do you clean/maintain the stainless steel filter the same as the red one?
Hi Scott,
The filter itself is the same in either case and is maintained and cleaned the same.

Looks like rain might enter carb through this type of air filter. Is that so ? Thanks
The rain would not enter the carb unless you get caught in a downpour, then there could be some heavy sputtering. Rain should not cause any problems with an open Air Cleaner/Filter. A rain sock is always recommended especially if you plan on leaving your bike parked out in the rain.

is this filter a washable air filter
Yup it is, but you'll need the Arlen Ness filter cleaning kit. Comes with a spray on cleaner and oil for after its bin cleaned and dried.

DO the stainless or synthetic filters need to be replaced over time?
With proper care, cleaning , oiling one filter should last several years

After installation what do I do with the two hoses that originally went into the stock air cleaner. Is there an air breather kit that I need so these two hoses aren't dangling in the wind?
You don't do anything with those two hoses! The bolts that attach the backing plate to the heads are hollowed out and route the blowby into the throttle body. Everything is hidden.

I've heard it's a must to remap bike after an intake install...also, would the power gain be the same if I didn't remap? (2007 StreetBob)
I've never remapped with just an air box. Anything more ie exhaust, cams, compression... a tuner would be a good idea. HD download is a waist of money.
