Description

The Quest RSV is a Backcountry helmet based on Dual Sport or Adventure types of motorcycle helmets. Keep your Backcountry look with the advantages of a full face helmet. When closed, the double visor provides maximum protection against the elements; when the visor is lifted, enjoy the freedom of backcountry helmets. No more wind, rain or snow in your off-trail helmet. The double visor and breath deflector are designed to prevent the visor from fogging up. Want some fresh air? Take the visor off and wear the Quest as a regular Backcountry helmet, with goggles.

The Quest RSV features a retractable inner amber visor which reduces sun glare. Also, the ProClip quick release mechanism ensures a quick and simple adjustment. Under the most extreme conditions, the electric visor becomes a must as it makes all fogging problems inside the helmet disappear almost completely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great helmet at great price! I bought this helmet over the christmas break, and finally had a chance to test it out on a trip to Quebec. I am very happy with this purchase. Great visibility, and the electric visor clears fog very quickly even on the coldest of days. My only 2 complaints are as follows: 1) there is a very minor slack in the right side visor hinge, which causes some annoying sounds at high speeds. 2) If you ride with the sun visor down, and put it up for a short period of time, it collects condensation and freezes/frosts over. Breathbox could sit a little tighter to the nose/face which would help with some fogging when the shield is not connected. Very warm when it was cold, and not too hot when it was mild. We rode in conditions that ranged from -22C (-26 w/ windchill) to -2C.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with purchase This is my 2nd CKX helmet, I replaced my last one after 10 yrs and a significant accident. I wear these in summer on a dualsport motorcycle and in the winter snowmobiling. I also wear it on an ATV spring, fall, and winter. My last one was modular and held up well and took a good hit to the chin guard when I retired it. I decided not to go modular this time. I liked the modular for talking, eating, and drinking without removing your helmet. Otherwise I prefer the fixed chin guard. Excellent visibility through a very clear visor with a wide view. It doesn't confine my peripheral vision allowing easy shoulder checks. My last CKX was similar and this was a part of why I bought another CKX. I think this new one is even better. I ordered the electric shield for winter and it works great. Also I don't change it out for summer I just don't use the electric plug, I find the dual lenses is clear and it never fogs up. I like the peak on this one, I find it helps if riding into the sun as well if there are branches or sticks hanging over the trail that you only see at the last minute, if you duck it deflects them. Which leads me to believe it would work for roost but I usually ride in front or by myself so I haven't tried that yet. I have a moto x helmet with a peak that pulls my head all over the place at hwy speeds but the air flow through the peak on this CKX doesn't have that effect so far. Maybe the mid height windshield on my snowmobile deflects that much more air over my helmet than my motorcycle but I doubt it and at 80+ mph so far the peak doesn't cause a noticeable strain on my neck. The only thing that is taking me a while to get used to is when I go to pull the visor down it is tucked up inside the peak and I grab both at the same time. The helmet comes with side covers so you can remove the peak but so far I am getting used to reaching between the peak and the visor to pull the visor down. With thinner summer gloves I think this will be easier but with thick bulky winter gauntlets it's not as easy as if the peak wasn't there but for now I would rather keep the peak than remove it. The drop down yellow lenses works great, it fits me well and activation is better and easier than my previous CKX. Also my last one didn't come down quite far enough where I find this one perfect, I look forward to trying it on my bike. In winter it will fog up with both visors down but I have still used it. What else can I say, I love the quick release ratchet like chin strap. Was easy to get used to, easy to adjust for tightness every time and easy to release. Also I have worn this quite a bit this winter with a balaclava all day for 6 to 8 hours ride time, and 3 or 4 days in a row and it is very comfortable and warm for snowmobiling. I haven't had a chance to try it on my motorcycle but I look forward to it. I ride a light weight dualsport so in the heat of the summer if I'm riding offroad most of the day I wear my moto x helmet and goggles but if I'm riding 50/50, I find the CKX full face helmet much quieter and better visibility on the hwy. Sorry for the longwinded review but I am very pleased with my new CKX and glad I decided to buy another one. My first one was instrumental in saving my life or at least my face. I wear full gear all the time and I was very lucky in my accident to walk away unscathed so I put my trust back in CKX. I also believe all the features I have described above play a role in safety because of the functionality and comfort they help you ride and stay safe.

Questions

I’m thinking of using it to winter ride my bike. Any other ideas fir a power source when the sled is not available?

Asked by: Geoffrey
If you do not have a vehicle with a battery to connect to, the voltage is too high on helmets typically for a battery pack. I would suggest switching to a dual lens helmet model, still winterized, but not heated.

What is the shell shape/type of this model?

Asked by: SnowAllDay
Although not advertised officially, the CKX Contact, Quest, Tranz, Titan and Mission helmets are known to be an intermediate oval head shape. *CKX prefers not to officially advertise this information to avoid confusion with sizing.

How does this helmet plug in for the electric mask?

Asked by: Maxpower243
Like this helmet alot, espacially the internal amber lens, it's a simple plugin similar to a headphone jack that you connect on the side of the electrical lens. works great. The other end of the the cable is similar to a audio/vga connector that you connect to the snowmobile.

Is it double lens ?

Asked by: Tan7
