Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent snowmobile helmet! I bought this helmet this year in January 2019. The price was definitely an eye catcher as it was $53 cheaper from ForteNine compared to every sled shop. Most sled shops do not stock this helmet with the electric goggles. The shipping was fast and it was not damaged. The only problem I ran into was the lenses on the goggles was like it had a spot that was melted and the foam on one side was already coming unglued after one ride and the indicator light on the cord didn’t work but the goggles had power to them. I called ForteNine and they dealt with the problem. I reordered a new pair of electric goggles and then used the packaging to return the damaged ones and received my refund. It’s a great system on the helmet and goggles with the strap system as hanging them over top the helmet instead of looking for a place to hang them or hanging on the side of your face. I love the the modular mouth piece that opens up. I have heard of the mouth piece breaking on people. But honestly, even in -40 I never had problem with it. It seems to be bilt well and you just have to be patient when opening it. But it works great to talk, eat and drink bottled water. So far I have found it to be very warm compared to my other snocross helmet. I wear eye glasses and I can easily use a no fog mask inside the helmet and the nose piece on the modular mouth piece covers the no fog mask which does help keeping my glasses from frogging. Seems as long as I keep the mouth piece vent open then it removes the air from my glasses. I love the clear lense as it’s easier in during the day and especially at dusk. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is CKX could improve the opening trying to get the helmet over your head. I typically use an XL but purchased this helmet as 2XL and it’s still snug but okay. The ratchet style chin strap is the best next to a snap button. I feel sorry for my daughter because she has a modular helmet and the button at the bottom is always icing up on her. On the whole I am very happy with the helmet especially the electric goggles that don’t fog at all! I have also found it to fairly sound proof to the point that I need a communication device lol.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Issue with fuse I really like the helmet itself, very comfortable and warm - this is important since I live 200km north of the arctic circle. However, the electric goggles don't work... they arrived with the fuse blown, and I haven't been able to get a replacement since i live in a remote place. I would recommend shipping this helmet with a replacement, or with the fuse in a protective case instead of in the wiring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally Finally a helmet I like. Have tried many different brands including the popular 509. They all had some things I did not like such as frost bitten cheeks from goggles not seating properly, or restricting breathing. Or the dreaded fogging shield/goggles which seems to affect every helmet. So far the CKX has been very good. You can still experience some fogging if you are doing straight carving/donuts, but you can open the flap and breathe out the mouth hole and it eliminates the problem. Then if you are going to go top speed or trail rippin you close the flap up and the helmet is very warm. FINALLY!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome backcountry/trail helmet! I have owned this helmet for a year now, so I feel I can give it a honest review. I have been waiting for a dual purpose helmet like this for years. It's the only helmet I wear for all my riding. Being from Manitoba and riding the Rocky mountains several times a year, I have been waiting for a helmet that can do both. I rode a lot days in Manitoba with temps from -15C to -30C. Many of those days were at -25C to -30C and with this helmet, I was never cold. I did remove all the foam plugs to allow maximum venting before using it. It does an amazing job of blocking out the wind and cold and letting out the heat when you're working it in the back country. Having the heated goggles on is almost a must when the temps are colder to prevent fogging. The only small issue is that when it starts to get below -25C, a fair amount of frost can build up on the flip down breath box. This makes if difficult to close the breath box should you open it because the frost causes the metal closing clasps to stick. It just requires several attempts but I've always gotten it closed. Other than that, this helmet has performed flawless and could not be happier. Three of my friends ditched their full face modular helmets and bought one after seeing how well mine worked down to -30C.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more questions!.....just do it! Incredible....worth every penny....just do it...you wont be disappointed....look at it as an investment into the rest of your life because the older you get the less you will like cold and this thing solves that entirely.

                  Questions

I would like to ride without an electric cord, but have it for backup when needed. Do the electric googles fog up when they're not plugged in?

                  Asked by: kb123
These are still a dual pane lens even if they are not plugged in, so they would work as a non heated shield at this point.

The helmet and goggles don’t come with a battery pack. How much is a battery?

                  Asked by: Chipanze
No batteries. They plug into your sled. If your sled has no plug in you can buy a kit for about $100 from your dealer.

Does the helmet come with 2 chin curtains: A long for trail riding and a short for the backcountry, and does it also come with the 2 removable breath guards and face guard? Right now I don't see those included in the details.

Although not advertised officially, the CKX Contact, Quest, Tranz, Titan and Mission helmets, are known to be an intermediate oval head shape *CKX prefers not to officially advertise this information to avoid confusion with sizing.
