Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Long Oval Helmet Just tried this helmet for the first time. My last helmet was the LS2 MX453 DS helmet. It was an awesome helmet. This review will be a direct comparison to that helmet. Fit, Long oval, bit tight front to back but will break in over time. cheek pads will loosen over time. Sizing is correct to chart. A bit noisy as all the vents are open except chin vent. Comes with chin curtain which works great. The drop down visor works well could be darker and comes down far enough almost too far but that could be my nose. The peak does not pull much in the wind, certainly acceptable as the peak blocks the sun great. so the trade off is worth it. Not sure how rain will effect the helmet as the vents are open but it will fog up for sure. Pinlock ready but the Pinlocks are pricey. The clear visor can be opened a crack so that helps. No detents on visor. The visor does sit at the top of the site line when fully opened but will get used to that. Ratchet strap is great no digging in neck. As said early these are my first impressions. Overall , very happy with helmet. I have a hard time with proper fit and this works well. Wish that more companies would make Long Oval lids. As our choices are limited. The price is great, styling great, Fit is great. All you bigheads will like this lid . Ride Safe

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long oval... almost. An ECE rated helmet as well featured as this for this price absolutely deserves five stars, and I'm happy with my purchase. But a warning for long oval heads who have read this fits like an Arai Signet... it almost does, but not quite. I still get a small hotspot on my forehead; this is a two hour helmet for me. I'd put the fit somewhere between the medium oval of a Shoei and an Arai Signet. I'd also say it fits small. My head circumference is 60cm, which LS2 says is a Large. On a hunch, I went up a size, and it fits very snugly. Not snugly enough to go up another size, but enough that even earplugs are a tight fit, and certainly enough that the recommended size would have been way too small. Still, a remarkable value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good value-priced helmet This is one of the few truly long-oval shaped helmets on the market for dual sport. The helmet fits great, allows for communicator installation, has reasonable quality in fit in finish, and is well-ventilated. The eyeport is large enough for goggles. The internal drop-down visor is a nice to have but the optical quality is less than stellar. There is no other helmet in this price bracket that has the fit and features. This is comparatively a budget version of my Shoei Hornet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing For Price replaced an older ZOX helmet that was similar price, this is 100 times better. Fits true to size for me (58.5 head, tried LG & MD, went with MD) sun shield is great, good action to raise/lower, bought Pinlock, super comfy. Visor is great visibility, but on the negative no detents (sp?) - but can crack open a bit and stays open OK, lock/latch is really hard to open/close (maybe will get raise with use?), I tend to close visor but not latch as it's too tough, doesn't seem to affect wind noise at all. Speaking of noise, it's noisy... but I always ride with ear plugs anyway. Trade off is ventilation is great. Other negative for me is you can't remove the nose/breath guard (integrated into visor lock), I like to remove these on my helmets as I ride a lot with goggles and it gives me more nature smells with guard off!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern helmet at a great price Quick note on sizing. A lot of ppl say the helmet runs too small, but u think the posing design is just different. It's more of a form fitting and very cradling fit, made to support and protect every part of your head. Once you wear it a bit it makes sense and is comfortable, just takes getting used to and some break in time. It helps to pull down the bottom of the cheek pads where, low and behold, it says "pull". The helmet is very light, the vision wide, the flip down sunshade is effective and fairly easy to deploy, and the airflow is well designed. The ratcheting chin strap is like stepping into the future if you've only used d-rings; it's so easy to get on and off and to adjust, there's a quick release tab as well that instantly releases the strap. It's nice also that the visor clicks down when closed to hold it in position and limit wind noise, and that the angle of the brim can be adjusted. This is a remarkably good helmet for the money if you are an adventure or trail rider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable! Tried this model on at the Vancouver Bike Show. After a year with an ill fitting HJC dirt lid, I thought i should get a proper DS helmet. Between the price and fit and finish, this was up near the top of the list. The overall fit is perfect. The cheek pads are a bit tight, but in my experience, this is the first part to wear in. Excellent ventilation while riding around town, with the clear visor up, and and the tinted down. Highway is a bit noisy, but with earplugs or music in, it was never excessive. The vents are great, as is the visor. There was no buffeting as higher speeds (100k+).

Is this helmets visor removable

Asked by: Jham
Yes it is, but IMO, it ruins the lines. I don’t think it was really designed to be run like that.
