Excellent Heated Vest.I've had this vest for a week now and managed to get 2 - 5hr rides in. Its the end of October and I live in Midwestern Ontario and have ridden up the Lake Huron coast up the Bruce Peninsula and down the Georgian Bay side. Today's ride was 10.5° and with the vest on 50% power, I was toastie and warm, 100% was too warm. I had light long johns on and a windbreaker over the vest, topped off with my revit Sands adventure jacket. So light layers under my outer jacket. I'm guessing I could lose long johns and wear a long sleeve tee and still be fine. There's lots of power left at 75 and 100% to meet individual needs. Battery pack is adequate but to be honest my main focus is the riding aspect when plugged into the bikes battery. So far very pleased with my purchase.

Used at 12.5 Celsius at 120 kph and worked great.I had the chance recently to use this vest under my rain gear while coming back through the mountains while pouring rain. The temperature went down to 12.5 degrees C and I was doing around 120 kph. It kept me nice and toasty. I'm sure a whole jacket would be nicer, however, if you want to pack lighter this is a great vest.
It fits close to true to size, although some customers did indicate that it may be a little tight in the upper arm area. Therefore, if you have a larger build you might need to size up one size.

Can I run this off of a separate battery or does it have to be plugged into my bike?

The vest comes with its own power pack that is rechargeable. It also comes with necessary wiring and plug to attach to your bike’s battery
