Shoei GT-Air II Redux helmetVery happy with this helmet. Comfortable, quiet, lightweight. Only down side is that it doesn't have a D-ring for locking to the motorcycle. Having said that, really enjoy the fast fastening clip

Love this helmet!I got the green version of this helmet and so far love it! I bought size S and am a female rider for reference. I was worried that the pop down shades inside of the helmet wouldn't be dark enough for my sensitive eyes, but it has worked fantastically. My cardo system was easy to install and fits great. The only improvement I would like to have seen is that the helmet strap feels like it pushes into my neck a bit. I find myself readjusting the strap every so often, which works okay. Overall, I am super happy with this helmet!

Exceptionally comfortable!this helmet is amazing! I have a rather narrow head, and this model fits me very well. I used to wear Shark older models and this is a giant step up. Can’t comment on the quietness of it, all helmets seem loud. The internal dark shield is very useful if the day is cloudy with a potential for some sun. On a very bright day I wear fully tinted visor and sometimes even double up with internal shield when riding towards to sun. There is a lot of space in the front for a comm system mic. The visor replacement is a little tricky at first, but easy enough to figure out. Vents are adequate. Fast release strap is amazing! Overall the helmet is light enough and feels like you’re wearing a pillow on your head! Its that comfortable! Also it is superior in its aerodynamic quality. You definitely get what you pay for and this helmet is among the best!

Best helmet I’ve ever hadI was at a motorcycle shop looking for a new helmet and literally tried everything from Bell to HJC, Arai, you name it. Off the bat Shoei had a better fit for my head but in terms of quality, shoei made all the other helmets feel like kids toys or a Walmart bicycle helmet. It’s very light, very quiet, great ventilation, AAA aerodynamics, cannot live without creature comforts like quick release strap and integrated visor. But more importantly I’ve seen first hand that this helmet will save my dome in a crash. My best friend had a high speed low side, he hit his forehead on a rock and he suffused ZERO head injuries. Not even a headache. Only gripe is it is expensive but you pay for what you get, don’t cheap out on your helmet.

Fantastic.Big upgrade from the Quest of 10 years ago. Better wind protection and noise. Excellent visor and field of view. Good ventilation. Love the built in shade lens. Only down side is the chin strap. It sits right on my apple and it's taking a bit to get used to. I'm sure it will wear in. Buy it.

What you would expect from ShoeiI bought this GT-Air II Crossbar recently, to replace my Qwest, and so far, have worn it on a couple of trips, each lasting a couple of hours. It fits more snug than the Qwest and I feel a bit of pressure from the cheekpads. I will persevere as there may be more give in the foam after a bit of wear. The only other minor niggle I have is the ratchet chin strap. With the D-ring chin strap on my Qwest, it was easy to hang the helmet on the handlebar. There's not enough strap to do it with the ratchet. I can't sing too many praises, as the high quality is what you expect from Shoei at this price point. There appears to be a lot of negative reviews on-line, but they seem to be from GT Air owners who are unhappy that Shoei have opted for the Sena SRL2 comms system.

What's the shape of this helmet? Round, oval, or intermediate?
Asked by: Tomtom
From my experience I'd categorize it as a round to intermediate type.

J’aimerais savoir le fini du noir sur la peinture sur le crossbar bleu , les images mes laisse croire que le noir et mat et que sur le rouge et le jaune le noir semble lustré. Peut-être c’est seulement une question de photographie .
Asked by: Chris
C'est seulement une appareance. Les 3 modèles sont noir mat.

can a cardo scala rider G9X comm unit be installed on this helmet? I do not want to purchase a new comm unit. I love my GT Air helmet that needs replacing and would like to replce it with the GT Air II
Asked by: RJack
I highly recommend finding the original GT Air on sale. This new model is meant to interface with a specific Sena comm, so won't work well with your G9X. It's also a bit heavier, costlier, and doesn't really improve on anything.

My head size is 58.5 and as a result im between sizes in most helmets. I tried a medium HJC Cl-17 and the cheek pads were too tight. Does this fit true to size ? What size would you recommend
Asked by: Hitmanjat
Yes, The Shoei GT-Air II Helmet is listed to fit true to size and we would recommend the L size.
