                  Description

The Shoei RF-SR Helmet takes every step possible to deliver a quiet, comfortable ride. The CWR-1 shield is held firmly against the eyeport using a constant tension sprung hinge design; this greatly reduces opportunities for wind ingress. The exterior shell of the RF-SR is wind tunnel optimized and manufactured in multiple sizes to keep the outer envelop as small as possible. A smaller exterior shell translates directly into less turbulence, neck strain and total weight. Elements of the padded liner are interchangeable to dial in the perfect fit. Each RF-SR is handmade in Japan to the highest standards and easily surpasses DOT and SNELL M2015 safety certifications.

                  Aerodynamic Shell Design:

                  • Aerodynamic properties maximized through extensive wind tunnel and feedback from professional riders
                  • Dual-Layer EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation
                  • Four shell and six EPS liner sizes increase fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes

                  Ventilation System:

                  • Two upper air intake vents are positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior; hot air is exhausted through top outlet for a more comfortable ride
                  • Lower intake vent absorbs air exhaled from the mouth to help eliminate shield fogging
                  • Breath guard and chin curtain included

Lightweight Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus (AIM+):

                  • High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient

                  Interior:

                  • The entire interior lining (cheek pads, upper liner, and chin strap covers) can be removed for cleaning, center and cheek pads can be replaced with optional thicknesses for a customizable fit
                  • E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick Release System) allows emergency medical personnel to easily remove the cheek pads from an injured rider’s helmet, enabling the helmet to be more easily removed from the head
                  • Extra comfort provided by removable ear pads, breath guard, and chin curtain
                  • Standard chin strap clip neatly secures chin strap

                  CWR-1 Shield and QR-E System:

                  • CWR-1 shield features ribs along the top and bottom to improve rigidity and eliminate bending from wind pressure during opening and closing
                  • Improved window beading features dual-layered dual lip construction that ensures a windproof and waterproof seal with every closure
                  • Locking mechanism easily engages the shield lock when fully closed
                  • Pinlock pins and EVO fog resistant lens insert included
                  • Spring-loaded base plates offer quick shield changes
                  • Five-stage rotating dial allows fine tuning of the base plate for easy shield adjustments
                  • QR-E closure system allows for tool-less shield removal and installation, and provides an air-tight seal intended to significantly minimize wind noise

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my life I went down on streetcar tracks... I wont say anymore about that but I will say that when my head hit the ground it felt more like I made contact with a pillow rather than concrete. I exaggerate, but I didn't see any stars, I had no loss of consciousness and no concussion. I never had a more pleasant experience of hitting my head off the ground. Without it I would surly have had serious head injury, no doubt about it. SHARP gave this helmet a 5/5 and after owning it I can see why. Yes, there are other helmets that offer the same dot and snell ratings but I find they don't carry the same sharp rating. Plus all the attention to quality and detail that Shoie has taken the time to include that make this helmet a better investment. (Sharp calls this helmet the "Shoei RYD" in case you want to look it up) Fit was tight out of the box and over time loosened to a securely snug fit. I sweat a lot too but I never felt uncomfortable wearing it, the fabric actually does draw the moisture away. I found that sunglasses fit comfortably around the ears. And the emergency quick release also really came in handy in the end. Ventilation I thought could be better, but it did the job. The visor definitely had to be open at low speeds but that kind of goes without saying... The multiple visor positions available comes in handy for slower speeds Noise level I thought was normal for my experience, I still wanted to wear earplugs on the highway. I did like the locking mechanism on the visor, when it was locked it really made the helmet feel tight and secure. Style is fantastic. The colours are nothing special but the shape and design of the helmet are great. It's sleek, its lightweight and everything on it is easy to use with thick leather gloves on. I really liked this helmet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet Seen these in the states before them made it to Canada but had to have one as soon as they became available. Light and great fit also love the fact my Sena was designed to fit in the side panels. But like any Shoei the extra shields are too much darn money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoei Perfection My last lid for 6 years was ab RF-1200 so that's the comparison I can make. It's better for me, and that's why I passed on the RF-1400. Basically, you can't tell which one of these helmets is on your head, comfort is the same (perfect) Sitting upright or in a tuck, I really feel no difference. What I like better about this RF vs the others is it's simplicity in terms of ventilation. Rear exhaust vents always open (on my 1200 i never knew if they where open or closed. Easy to open brow vents that flow better air than the 1200 did. The chin/face vent flows twice as much air as the 1200. Both vents are much easier to operate when riding than the 1200. All in all, this is a top quality helmet just like you would expect from Shoei. No cut corners, just a simplified comfortable lid. Oh noise....Can only compare to the 1200, my memory does not go back more than 6 years! Everything closed, the same, everything open and this helmet is noticeably quieter. There where many rides where I would keep the brow vents closed on my 1200 because of the excess noise, not on the RF-SR.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent standard/naked bike helmet Coming from an HJC dual sport helmet and wanting a dedicated street helmet, I bought this. It's great and just what I was looking for - lighter and quieter. The face shield is quite fog-resistant but having a Pinclock included is great. The face shield is very clear and has no distortion. Vents work well, especially the chin vent than vents into the face shield. I have a standard oval head and this fits perfectly - comfortable right out of the box. True to size as best as I can tell. Excellent value for a top-quality brand helmet designed for a more upright riding position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect view, sit perfectly I wanted the Glamster, but Shoei North America do not intend to make it available soon, so I went with this RF-SR uncluttered version with no fuss but all the quality of a perfect helmet. I have ahead measurement of 56cm, so the Small Version fit like a charm. Not to heavy, well vented, I love it. Black version was my choice, and will add some graphic reflective design on the back,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ce casque ma protégé avec succès.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Shoei Quality My wife's first motorcycle helmet. At 72, she's gonna start riding with me. I've always worn Shoei's. Tried on a few friends' helmets and settled on small. Perfect fit. Easy to equip with headset. As it is winter here in the far north, it won't be used until about May. Bummer. Overall, very pleased.

No issues at all. I wear sunglasses almost all the time while riding in the summer and can't even feel the arms of the glasses.

I’m looking for a touring helmet that will keep the rain off the inside of my visor. Will this do the trick? I also need to install my Cardo Packtalk Edge in it.

                  Asked by: Rwjearle
As per the manufacturer, the RF-SR should keep water from getting into your helmet during rides. When opening the shield, water will get in if you are in the rain. As per Cardo, they believe the devices should hook up to the side of any helmet.

Do the wind vents have screens to stop the bugs from coming in ?

                  Asked by: Bouba
I don't see screens.  But they are very small.  I think you would have to have very tiny bugs for it to be a problem.    Our bugs up here are huge.    RR
