                  Description

The Arai XD-5 (or Tour-X5) Helmet is more than ready to ride the earth, being the most polyvalent adventure style helmet of the series.

The XD-5 is a completely redesigned helmet, packed with many new features. As with everything from Arai, every improvement is made with a priority for protection. And this new model brings riders ever closer to the ideal Arai shape for protection.

                  Design and protection:

                  • 3 Ways to change your helmet style! - Choose an Adventure, On-road or Off-road style by changing or removing outer parts like the peak
                  • Intermediate Oval Shape - Designed for the rider whose head has a front-to-back dimension that is longer than the side-to-side dimension. This is a neutral head-shape design which tends to fit most riders well
                  • PB-CLC2 shell with Super Fibre Laminates - Greatly increases the strength and flexibility while maintaining low weight and a lower center of gravity
                  • Innovative Peak - The all-new peak is designed for more effective ventilation, increased high speed flow-through performance, greater range of adjustability for blocking the sun, and is more resistant to buffeting
                  • Retractable pull-down Chin Spoiler - Reduces wind intrusion into the bottom of the helmet and helps to pull out hot and humid air around the sculpted leading edges of the cheek pads. Plus, it helps to reduce visor fogging and wind noise
                  • Tour-X5 Ventilation - Has a completely new ventilation system, with a total of three intake vents and five exhaust vents to stay cool in any situation
                  • Re-designed nose deflector - To make the use of goggles easier

                  Comfort:

                  • FCS cheek pads (Facial Contour System) - Multiple layers of varying foam densities supported by a "spring" foam, giving extra comfort to the lower jaw and cheeks
                  • 10 mm Wider base - The exclusive shell flares 5 mm on each side for a total of 10 mm around the base, making it easier to get the helmet on and off
                  • Egg-shaped chin cover compatible - The curtain simultaneously blocks air intrusion from turbulent air below and increases negative pressure to enhance the exhaust function of FFS by drawing more air from the mouth area. The improved airflow reduces noise even further
                  • Dry-Cool Liner - Transfers heat and moisture away from the rider quickly and efficiently
                  • Peel-Off layer of 5 mm - Removable inner layer for a custom fit, giving more comfort
                  • Replaceable Cheek pads/Ear cups/Chinstrap covers - The complete interior may be easily removed
                  • Interior lining - Odor resistant, antimicrobial and super soft

                  Ventilation:

                  • Side and Neck exhaust vents - Better aerodynamics, wind noise reduction, and prevention of buffeting at speed. On the inside, a small noise reducing foam helps to absorb and diminish excessive noise, without reducing ventilation performance
                  • Removable Rear Duct - The air-through top-rear-duct center brace also functions as a goggle-strap locator
                  • 3D Arai logo Duct - Made as thin as possible and can be opened or closed, the 3.5 mm front logo feeds two central 10 mm intake ports underneath. Plus, it is designed to breakaway in the event of an impact for enhanced glancing off ability
                  • Inner Chin (bar) vent shutter - If the inner and outer shutters are both open, the air will be directed towards your mouth. If the outer shutter is open and the inner closed, the air will be directed towards the visor and help to reduce fogging
                  • Three position Chin vent - Helps in demisting the visor and offering fresh, cool air to the rider
                  • Center Top vent intake - Closed, half open or fully open to adjust the airflow and prevent water intrusion when fully closed

                  Shield:

                  • VAS-A shield mechanism (Variable Axis System A) with Max Vision - This new visor system allows for easier and faster visor swaps. Plus, a larger and clearer field-of-view is the result
                  • Pinlock lens insert (included!) - Clear anti-fog lens absorbing moisture, perfect for colder seasons
                  • Dirt removal peak - The elongated and rounded peak helps protect the rider from mud or other objects. The flow-through vent ducts and removable rear vent cowls also allow you to remove dirt easily

                  Other Features:

                  • ERS (Emergency Release System) - Integrated bright pull tabs inside the cheek pads for an easier access to an injured rider
                  • Double D-ring strap
                  • DOT & Snell M2020D certified

Note: Head liner, cheek pads, neck roll and chin curtain are removable. All parts can be cleaned with lukewarm water and gentle soap.

                  Questions

Is the new Aria xd5 helmet designed to be worn with eye glasses?

                  Asked by: THarding
The compatibility would vary based on the size of your glasses. While not specifically designed for them, it should comfortably accommodate glasses with the shield. You can watch a review video where a rider wears glasses with the shield without any issues. https://youtu.be/uHVuKmgfNN8?t=948
