Rated 4 out of 5 by from NIce helmet but not as described (to my delight!) Purchased this helmet about a month ago so no long term observations. One the reasons I purchased this helmet is I am probably the only rider in the world that hates interior sun shades so thought I would give the transition lens a whirl. The interior of the helmet is of good quality and construction. The material is very plush and soft which is nice on the ears. The speaker pockets work well with my Sena system. Sizing was good for me, dependent on helmet I am on border betwixt medium & large and in this case ordered large based on size chart. The exterior looks well crafted and the finish is very swank. I absolutely love the transition lens and its' automatic adjustments. It may be function of my imagination but I think it keeps the helmet slightly cooler when riding into sun. I do wish the visor would close with a click (no issues with it opening but like the tactile feel when they click shut). Also wish it had a setting to keep the visor slightly open (my last 3 helmets have not had this either but a long time ago my helmet did and I miss that feature). The helmet is not whisper quiet but seems comparable to the Nolan I replaced but that one was modular so not a quiet helmet to begin with. I listen to podcasts and music via my Sena & it has to be turned to max to listen to at speeds above 100kmh. Despite the "Important Information" box on the website saying it would have no communication compartment, my helmet arrived WITH the communication compartment. While I can see the downsides to this compartment with noise & losing the cover, it was actually a benefit to me as I happen to have the correct communicator and love integration of components! So this could be a down for you unless you have a Sena SMH10. In the end, I am very happy so far with this helmet. At this price it is a low risk purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the transition visor I ordered this helmet a couple of weeks ago and it shipped promptly. The helmet fits nicely and is very light weight. I used it for the first time today and the best feature is the transition visor, it tints very quickly and works very well. So well infact that I wasn't expecting it to be so bright when I opened the visor. And I got several compliments on the design of the helmet as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wore it all last year, transitions lens is great Bought this helmet last year as I was in need of a change from my previous helmet. I used to wear sunglasses under my helmet and that didn't really bother me, but it's nice to be able to just go out and not worry about it. I wear earplugs under any helmet so noise in general is not something I can comment on. Overal fit and comfort has been really good. I also think the ventilation on this helmet is really nice and I've never felt overheated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet Great entry level helmet. Comfortable and good ventilation. It does have a good bit of wind noise but I ride with earplugs and only really notice the wind over 110kph. Fit a Cardo Freecom, easy install and good sound. The visor is AWESOME. No sunglasses needed and great visibilty. Highly recommended helmet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted! Bought this helmet a month ago and it arrived overnight! I love this helmet in terms of fit and looks! The price was very competitive. It is Winter so I haven’t ridden with it yet, but I am very confident that this Bell will be a worthy replacement for my Shoei!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A cheap helmet with a mid-range price I bought this as my first helmet, not knowing what features to look for and was initially very impressed. After riding with it for a couple of months however, I have to say that the price point that Bell is asking for this is not justified. This is essentialy the $150 Bell Qualifier Solid Helmet with MIPS and a transition visor tossed in. The overall quality of the helmet beyond that matches the $150 price point, and absolutely does not justify the almost $400 asking price. Let's start with the positives: -The fit is good, as the large sized helmet fit me perfectly. There's very little movement, and the cushioning and padding is very comfortable. -As others have mentioned, the transition visor works very well, and changes from clear to smoke, and back very quickly. -Overall the helmet looks good And now the negatives: -The helmet feels cheap. It's light, which is a pro, but is clearly not built with the premium materials you'll find even in other Bell helmets in the same price range. -The visor does not fit snugly against the helmet. There is a gap along the top of the visor that not only creates a substantial amount of additional wind noise, but also allows bugs to crawl into. I discovered this when a wasp climbed into my helmet on the 401. -Noise. My goodness, the noise. Even with the visor closed and all vents shut the helmet is very loud. -The vent's are cheaply constructed. The two top vents will frequently slide shut of their own accord. There is also no mesh on the inside of the vents, again giving insects a great access point to your head. For the price, go find a better helmet and buy a transition visor to slap on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Transition Lens worth every penny I purchased the helmet mainly for the Transition lens, I'm a glasses in helmet rider. Having that option for dark shield and clear, without having to wear sunglasses was great. On the louder end of helmets with all the vents open. I'm thinking I should have gone one size smaller, small gap on the neck roll. Very confortable. Speaker pockets are great. Great helmet, great deal.

                  Questions

How do i best clean the bugs off the transition lens without damaging it - i have a photo lens cloth, is it best to dampen it with just water?

                  Asked by: lmm91
I use brown paper hand towels. Soak the paper with plain clear water and place it over the open lid, do not scrub just leave it over for 20 minutes, then use a micro-fiber to shine it off , no soaps - no chemicals just clear water. Those pesky splatered bugs will scratch any visors if you just wipe it off, the soaked brown paper will soften dead debris before using the micro-fiber. No SOAPS, no CHEMICALS and you might gain a few years of use on the visor.

Will I be able to wear my prescription glasses with this helmet?

                  Asked by: Lynn
I wear glasses, and don't have any problems. There aren't glasses tracks, but it's not uncomfortable to wear glasses with this helmet.

                  Is the face shield photochromic?

                  Asked by: Seabass
Yes, it has a transitions® Adaptive ClickRelease™ Shield Included meaning when its sunny outside the lens turns dark in seconds, and when the sun goes away the tint fades to clear in a minute.
