Very comfortable jacket in the heat
Bough this jacket a few weeks ago and have been extremely happy. I needed a summer riding jacket and this is just the ticket. The stretch panels allow easy movement and make the jacket very comfortable. The vents let in lots of air; even at temps over 30C I’ve yet to feel the need to zip the arms off. My only issue was with sizing. I usually wear a large, but according to the KLIM sizing charts the sleeves of the large were going to be far too short. I ordered the XL and it was definitely too big, so returned it and got the large, hoping for the best. It fits perfectly, and the sleeves are generously long, despite what it says in the sizing charts. Should have just ordered my normal size from the beginning.

Bought as a summer jacket
I bought this as a lighter summer jacket to ‘sub in’ for my heavier Carlsbad jacket. Love the jacket fits well. Klim quality and reasonable price. THE ONLY THING… is why does klim not include the D30 protection? considering the success and wealth of this company it is a cheap move. Luckily I was able to transfer the elbows and back D30 from the Carlsbad to the Dakar. Overall I really like it. I’m an athletic build 180 lbs but 5’9” and M fit perfectly

Excellent summer jacket!
I already have a Klim Badland Pro jacket, which is great by the way, but it is very heavy and hot during hot summer days (it is black). So I bought this lighter monument grey jacket and I love it. It is very cool even during warm days and when I am stoped at a light I don't cook like a fish in a fry pan like with my other jacket. I bought a rain coat to cover in case of rain because it is highly breathable and stretchable, but not water proof. I definitely recommend it, and the pants that come with the jacket too! The only downside is that only my dorsal protection fits into this jacket, the elbow and shoulder protections don't. If they were fully compatible from one jacket to another (both are Klim, it should) that would be great.

Best jacket ever
I bought a black Dakar jacket several years ago and was very pleased with it.
It was an easy decision to purchase a grey Dakar jacket when my hot weather mesh jacket started falling apart.
The quality is top shelf, fit is generous.

Returned after fitting
Nice jacket. But a muppet I misread the description and realized there’s no 3do included.
After pricing out the armour this becomes a very expensive summer jacket.
Not really sure it’s worth this sort of cash with no 3DO.

Klim gear is always of exceptional quality. The fit was true to size. In hindsight, I should have bought one size larger to be able to layer correctly. Love the armour flexibility to install thicker or thinner options.

Pour ceux qui ont aussi le carlsbad, le dakar est il vraiment moins chaud?
Le Dakar est moins chaud que le Carlsbad car il est fabriqué en textile et conçu pour rouler par tous les temps. Le Dakar est également équipé de deux aérations supplémentaires par rapport au Carlsbad : deux aérations au niveau du biceps et deux aérations au niveau des manches.
