I bought this never having looked at one in person. I checked several other sites for the best price and shipping rates and theses guys were by far the best deal. And fast too. The helmet itself, I really like. I've always had full faced lids and recently bought a cruiser and thought I would try this style. I primarily buy HJC and was pretty confident of the fit. They didn't disappoint. The fit is great and very comfortable. I especially like the tuck away visor. Overall very pleased with this purchase.

Good if you wear glasses.
HJC IS-Cruiser is a pretty good half-helmet, especially if you wear glasses as the shield will clear wide frames. I have an older version and the fit on this is way better on the new version. My old helmet (both Medium) slides back at speed, the newer one stays planted and it's a tad snug but OK. Might just be the stiffer foam, but the older one always slid back, even new. Might be the new vents at the back ...maybe? Would be nice to have some vents on the front. The drop down shield has good coverage and really easy to swap the shield from the Smoke version to the Clear for night riding.
Small cons: the HJC front sticker on the matte helmet leaves some obvious marks after removal. Maybe tone down the glue on that sticker! (I didn't pay to sponsor your brand).
The clear shield has two wear marks from the mechanism after just a few uses. The marks are out of the field of vision though.
I have both the Smoke and Clear shield but, really needs to have an optional darker shield (I might try some window tint here).

Great helmet
This helmet is perfect for me! I am a new rider and wasn't sure what kind of helmet to get. This helmet fits likes its supposed too, no pinching or squeezing anywhere! The half visor is tinted just enough that it works in both day and night!

Nice Helmet!!
I bought this helmet for longer rides over my 'shorty' to give my ears a little bit of a break from the wind noise! While a VERY NICE helmet it is not much quieter than my 'shorty' even with the visor down.
Aside from that it is a WONDERFUL helmet!!
Will have to get a darker visor though!!!

Great helmet for the price
Retractable visor is a great feature. Runs a little close to the nose when down. If you are blessed with a large beak, this may not work for you

A Good Helmet for City Riding
I have been using the Helmet for around 1 month. I have always used a full face, but I wanted something light for city riding.
I find this to be a very good helmet for the money. I like the tinted pull down windscreen and the Retro look. I got the Matte Black. It's nice, but I find it stains easy.
I tried riding highway with the helmet and found it very noisy and too much wind enters the helmet blowing my head back.
I used the website size guide and the fit is perfect.

Excellent value and fit!
The only issue I have is the length of the chin strap - the visor is fantastic, lots of room for every style of eyewear.
I would buy another in a second. I recommend this 97%.

Think again about purchasing.....not worth it.
The reason why I bought this helmet is because I was looking for a summer helmet to wear during my short and hot summer commutes.
PROS: Beautiful black matte finishing!!! Light weight and wide vision makes it comfortable for riding. The visor comes in handy if you forget your sunglasses but not the greatest tint. (you still need your sunglasses)
CONS: Although the visor appears to be at a perfect length it's not and the visor comes off to short. This causes the wind to follow the inside of your visor when riding and then you have to contend with the wind blowing in your eyes. (NOT comfortable)
Needless to say I do not use my visor at all. I DO NOT recommend this particular helmet.

Questions
Any problem hooking up an intercom (HD) Kinda looks like the raised logo might keep it from laying flat.
There should be no issue adding a half helmet communication system like this one:

My head size is between sizes at 23”. Should I order the Med or Lg? All I’ve had for helmets are closed face hjc and they were Lg. I’ve never ordered a helmet without trying it on first so I want to get it right. Thanks
I would suggest trying a size Large.

Are interchangeable shields available ie. amber and clear?? Instructions to change these if available?? Thanks for your help.
Hi Champ,
There is only a smoke visor available for this helmet. It can be found under Item 290150.

Will this helmet accommodate a Sena 20S and speakers.
Unfortunately, no. The only Sena module compatible with half helmets is the Sena SPH10H-FM Bluetooth Headset.

Hello! I am looking at your HJC IS-Cruiser Helmet with the retractable visor, I always like to have a spare visor and the visor # 290150 which was asked about in a previous question comes up not available. Is their a new part number for a separate visor.
The replacement sun shield for the IS-Cruiser and IS-2 helmets can be found here:

Hello I have an HJC FJ17 and wear XL... since it's the came company would an XL work for this half face or can I go one down to L?
Sizing is different between these sub-models. We would suggest using the standard HJC sizing chart to determine the best fit for the IS-Cruiser.

Is this helmet safe for ATV riding? Can the visor be removed if needed?
The helmet is DOT approved which means it is road safe, and therefore technically safe for powersports activities. However, a full face helmet will offer much greater protection. The visor is removable.
