Great oil but high price on Fortnine.
Great oil but the prices on Fortnine are high. I found it for cheaper on a local motorcycle web store.

Great in old air cooled bikes
I use this in all my bikes; a '96 Trophy 900, an '84 FJ1100 and a '78 KZ650; works great in all of them. When I changed to Motul 5100 in my FJ1100 there was a noticeable improvement in shift quality, less so in the other bikes. Being a semi-synthetic, there is no issue using it in older bikes.

did my first oil change on my new/used bike and went for a quick ride before storing. Seems to run smoother. Would recommend.

Will this oil work for an ATV? (2003 kodiak 400 4x4)
I have been using Motul 5100 Ester 4T Technosynthetic Oil 10W-40 on my 2002 Yamaha FZ1 for many years. I costs a bit more than other oils, but I think it is a matter of preferences. It's designed for wet clutches, I believe that's what Kodiak uses.

Hi I have a dilemma. Can I use this oil 10W40 for old generation 1995 Kawasaki Ninja zx6r. My manual specify just Grade SF SE or SG, Velocity SAE 10W40,10W50 20W40 or 20W50 some people says that semi synthetic is not good for old generation transmission?
Hi, I am not an expert, but here is the oil manufacturers claim:
"The innovative anti wear additives package provides excellent gearbox protection. FZG Gear Test results: Pass FLS 14. The FZG (Forschungsstelle für Zahnrader und Getriebebau) Test, evaluates fluid lubricating and wear protection properties at the interface of a loaded set of gears."
Motul oils are formulated for integrated gearboxes and wet clutches. As far as I remember the engine seals are compatible with modern oils, so are the wet clutches. I have been using Motul 10W40 on my bikes since 2007 with no problems. Thanks, Kaz
