Rated 1 out of 5 by from so far, lackluster and headed for the bin... Fortnine was fast and great. Cardo PackTalk Custom was a regretful purchase and I’m beginning to think I have a problem with my unit. This is the first real test of the unit. I was riding with a friend with a Cardo Packtalk Edge and we were unable to achieve a stable and reliable DMC mesh outside of 20ft within an urban environment while maintaining a direct line of sight. It’s exactly what you think. Going 50kph down a mixed resi. / commercial Toronto suburban road and we couldn’t successfully have any sort of a communication. We tried again in a parking lot outside of the urban environment and it was still not a stable connection. The connection was static and would cut in and out. What I don’t understand about the unit is, if I connect my phone (which I don’t know why anyone would ride without one) to the unit, is the Bluetooth connection interfering with the DMC mesh? Both operating on a 2.4Ghz band. I don’t know but, if that’s the case then this unit is virtually useless. I used to ride with a pair of google pixel buds. They block the noise, allow me to reach my google assistant by yelling into my helmet and I could receive calls and such without having to take out my phone or take of my glove(s). If this unit effectively offers no real additional benefit to my earbuds ($140 with 0 wires or install procedure) by being able to simply connect to the DMC mesh then, its ineffective for its advertised purpose. I’ve opened the package and used it so I can’t return it. Great. I will do some further testing on this product but, as it is, its headed for the bin or a warranty claim. The only saving grace with this unit is that when I used the unit to call via my cell phone, that was a simple, effective and worked well however, it literally defeats the purpose of the unit because it offers 0 value over a pair of bluetooth buds that I was previously using.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All i got it for was DMC BEFORE BUYING: For those running Android 13, the software (firmware) that comes with these headsets is not compatible and bugged, which makes it so you cannot connect the headset using the Cardo app. To get around this, you must plug the headset to a PC and use the Cardo updater app to update to the most recent firmware. From then on, you're gravy. This issue is documented under Version notes for 3.1, so it should work for 3.1 onward. Looks, Lots of people online are upset that it's a subscription based model, and I get it. But I don't care, and me not caring allows me to buy this at a 20% discount, while fitting all my needs to have DMC in a communication headset and listen to music off spotify. It's good value, as far as Cardo goes.
