High Expectations, Harsh Reality
I recently purchased a Cardo Edge dual set, expecting top-notch performance from what is marketed as a premium product. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by two significant issues that potential buyers should be aware of.
Firstly, the sound quality of the Cardo Edge was a major disappointment. It significantly lags behind its direct competitors, trading off sound clarity for excessive volume. This approach not only compromised the listening experience but also introduced annoying buzzing noises that became quite intrusive during rides.
Secondly, I encountered considerable challenges with Cardo's customer service. One of the units in the DUO pack had a noticeable noise issue right out of the box. Opting to utilize the warranty service instead of immediately returning it to the retailer, I was frustrated to learn that I would be responsible for the shipping costs to send the product back for repair. It's unreasonable to expect customers to pay additional fees for the rectification of existing defects in a supposedly premium product.
Ultimately, I returned the system to the retailer(Fortnine) due to these unresolved issues. While the concept and features of the Cardo Edge seemed promising, the execution in both product quality and customer service was deeply lacking. Potential buyers might want to consider these factors before making a purchase.

Non stop problems with getting connected.
I bought it last month. Me and my friend for a long road trip which passes through cities & highways. We really needed this thing to be connected. But app had problems getting connected with device and once it’s connected to phone it had problem connecting to co rider. Spend this much money to avoid situations like this.

Could be better
Bought the dual pack. One wired mic was DOA. Cardo sent me a replacement. First long weekend trip with it, got caught in heavy rain and the unit fried itself while charging that night…. I assume related to the rain but, maybe not as it’s supposed to be ip67 waterproof. Cardo replaced it under warranty but, i had to send the old one back. Strike three, one of the teeth on the receptacle broke off when removing the unit.. these are very fragile. Cardo sent a new one under warranty. In use, there is a lot of what is described as audio “clipping” with the mesh…. Beginning of conversation gets cut. Also, really annoying time delay.. i can hear my passenger say something in real time and a split second after , i hear it through the cardo. Otherwise, it functions pretty good but, should be better for the price

Happy with unit
FortNine's shipping was fast, as usual. Installing the Packtalk Edge in my Icon AirFlite helmet was simple, and quick. I did end up moving the speakers forward a bit so they were more over my ears instead of behind them. Sound quality is good for music, and audio quality for phone calls is good. Voice commands work well enough, but could be better. I don't have a mount for my phone, so I don't use the Cardo app, but it seems very bare-bones. The battery life on the Edge seems very good.

Glad I got this on sale, paid $661 for the dual pa
This is the first motorcycle comms system I have ever used. Bought the pair to use on the Idaho and Washington BDRs. The set up was easy, although my phone, Iphone XR and my buddies Android, both showed the units were not connected when in fact they were. Sound quality was really good, I used the in helmet speakers with ear plugs in and worked really well, my buddy used earbuds with his. Battery life was really good, at times we charged the units while riding. I was a bit disappointed with the re-meshing of our units, riding in the mountains we regularly had , signal lost notifications and most of the time the units would remesh when we were in line of sight of each other, but on numerous occasions the units failed to remesh. On numerous occasions we had to turn off and on the units in order to get them to reconnect. for the cost of these units I expected better performance, that being said they worked really well on our 16 day off road trip. They were purchased new just before the trip and I had only used mine a few days to listen to music on my work commute.

Very happy
First thing, this is my first real experience with a coms unit. I have used Sena's with a friend on his sled, but that was only for coms, no music or guidance. Overall I'm pretty happy with the Edge. After some challenges fitting it into my helmet due to the speaker connection using a huge 3.5mm jack, and the speaker wires being barely long enough. I finally fit it into the battery compartment that HJC's have for their proprietary coms system, yes it fits, barely. Also the clip just didn't work on my HJC, I had way to much wind noise, I don't have a windshield, my friend had no such issue. But once I used the adhesive things improved dramatically. You will need to set up the mic sensitivity or you will have audio cut outs as one reviewer mentioned. I don't subscribe to the bigger is better when it comes to speakers, but then again I have zero experience with the 45mm speakers, the 40mm sound fine. It is competing with a lot of other noise, so you really shouldn't expect an audiophile experience. Use in ears if that's what your after, it will get you closer and this system will actually accommodate that because of the aforementioned 3.5mm jack.
In summary this is a great unit with excellent features, it connects quickly and consistently, not once since we connected them have we had problems reconnecting. The voice commands work as they should and the USB C is what you should expect in todays world. Battery life is very good.

Questions
Can you charge it while you ride?
After checking with the manufacturer directly, yes, you can charge the headset while you ride. When you go to charge the Cardo, the headset will turn off. Simply turn it back on while it’s taking power from the battery pack and you can go forever. They did however warn caution against using any type of low-quality mobile charger as it could affect the unit's performance.
